Sarah McIntosh, the owner and executive chef of Épicerie Café & Grocery, draws her inspiration for the menu from her upbringing in Louisiana. The restaurant combines the flavors of Louisiana Cajun and haute French cuisine, reflecting the food she craved and grew up eating. McIntosh's culinary journey began with a degree from Austin's Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and working at various restaurants, including 10 years with chef Thomas Keller, before opening Épicerie.

The restaurant also features a grocery component offering products that complement its cuisine. Despite the challenges, McIntosh manages her restaurant while raising two children with her husband.
