All the essentials you need for plant-based taco night!  Locally made tempeh from Flying Tempeh Brothers is nutty and mild flavored, with a crumbly texture similar to ground meat. Tempeh takes on flavors easily, so a short simmer in Siete's spicy taco seasoning means big Tex-Mex flavor.

Add veggies from your produce box, like carrots, sweet potatoes, or summer squash. Top with lettuce, cabbage, tomato and radishes. Serve with avocado, salsa and chile con queso. Spin this easy bundle any way you want for a quick weeknight dinner everyone will love.

RECIPE

Includes:


  • 1 lb Tempeh

  • 12 count Stone Ground Corn Tortillas

  • 1.31 oz Taco Seasoning


You will need:


  • Oil of Choice

  • Salt and pepper


Hands on Time: 10 minutes; Total Time: 10 minutes

STEP 1  Crumble the tempeh, then saute with oil over medium-high heat until lightly brown, about 5 minutes. Note: You can grate the tempeh for a finer texture that more closely resembles ground meat.
STEP 2  Add 1/3 cup of water and the taco seasoning. Stir and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
STEP 3  Warm the tortilla in a dry skillet, toasting for 10-15 seconds per side until lightly crisp and pliable. Alternatively, spritz the tortillas with water and wrap in a towel, then microwave.
STEP 4 Serve seasoned tempeh in warm tortillas and top with your favorite veggies, herbs and salsa!
