  • 2 oz Farmhouse Kitchen Blackening Spice
  • 32 oz Farmhouse Kitchen Fresh Cabbage & Carrot Slaw
  • 1 lb avg Tomatoes

  • Oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper
Hands on Time: 15 minutes; Total Time: 20 minutes

INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Thaw shrimp in refrigerator overnight in a bowl.

STEP 1  Preheat oven to 350°F. Thinly slice the tomatoes into rounds, then slice each round in half. Season with salt and pepper; set aside. Peel and devein the shrimp, then thoroughly pay dry with paper towels. Add shrimp to a mixing bowl and season with 1-2 tbsp. of blackening spice (to preference). Toss and combine well.
STEP 2  Heat a large cast iron skillet or sauté pan over medium-high. When the pan begins to smoke, add 1 tbsp. butter or oil, then working in batches, cook shrimp in a single layer. Allow the shrimp to cook for 1-2 minutes per side or until opaque and tails curl. Transfer to clean plate and repeat until all shrimp are cooked through.

STEP 3  Slice the baguette into 4 servings. Split each serving in half, being careful to not cut all the way through and leaving a hinge on one side. Toast in the preheated oven until the outside is just crisp, while the inside remains soft and fluffy; about 5 minutes.
STEP 4  To serve, spread remoulade inside the baguette, add sliced tomatoes, cabbage & carrot slaw and blackened shrimp. Drizzle with additional remoulade and sprinkle with blackening spice, as desired.

Enjoy!
