Pure Luck Dairy
This multi-generational family farm and goat dairy in the Texas Hill Country was founded by the late Sara Sweetser in 1995. Today, Sweetser’s daughter, Amelia Sweethardt, carries on her legacy as an award-winning cheesemaker. Sweethardt’s husband, Ben, is Pure Luck’s general manager, and her sister Claire and several employees oversee the herd of 100-plus Nubian and Alpine goats (every single one has a name and is considered a member of the family).
Their diet is supplemented by pasture forage and the resulting rich, flavorful milk is handcrafted into a variety of superb chèvres flavored with local ingredients like wildflower honey and red chilies. Sweethardt also teaches cheesemaking workshops at the dairy and the family is excited about their newest venture, a cheese house, and farm store, opening in 2018.
