Description

This pressure-cooker friendly dinner kit provides the essentials for cooking a typically all-day protein in under an hour. Farmhouse Kitchen's smoky barbecue spice rubbed baby back ribs are conveniently seasoned with savory and bold spices, then vacuum sealed to help infuse the flavors throughout the pasture-raised pork. With our easy and foolproof Instant Pot recipe below, the ribs come out tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. For that authentic baby back ribs experience, we've included Franklin's tangy Pork Sauce that's brushed over the ribs and broiled until sticky and caramelized just before serving. To round out the meal, serve the ribs with Farmhouse Kitchen's scratch made borracho beans and a fresh cabbage & carrot slaw with roasted jalapeno lime vinaigrette.

Serves 4 (Gluten Free, Dairy & Nut Free)

Includes:
  • 2.50 lb avg Smoky BBQ Rubbed Baby Back Pork Ribs, delivered uncooked, marinated and frozen
  • 12 oz Franklin Pork Sauce
  • 16 oz Borracho Beans
  • 32 oz Cabbage & Carrot Slaw Blend
  • 8 oz Roasted Jalapeno Lime Vinaigrette
You will need:
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Water, Apple Cider Vinegar, Beer, Chicken Stock, or your preferred flavorful liquid
  • Metal Trivet or 1 large Onion
Hands on Time: 10 minutes; Total Time: 60 minutes

INSTANT POT INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Thaw ribs in refrigerator overnight.

STEP 1  Set the metal trivet into the Instant Pot insert. If you don't have a trivet, slice an onion into 1-inch thick half moons and set them around the perimeter of the Instant Pot insert.

STEP 2  Remove the ribs from the package and cut the rack into two even sized halves by slicing between the rib bones. Set each half of the rib rack on opposite sides of the Instant Pot on the trivet or on top of the onion halves. Add 1 cup water, apple cider vinegar, beef, or chicken stock in any combination.
STEP 3  Secure the lid and move the valve to the Sealing setting. Press the Pressure Cook button, then use the +/- button to adjust the time to 20 minutes. The Instant Pot will take about 15 minutes to pressurize before the timer begins to count down from 20 minutes. When the timer on the Instant Pot beeps, let sit for 10 minutes without disturbing to naturally release pressure. Then, manually release the pressure by opening the steam valve. Do not hold your hand or look directly over the valve. Use a spoon with a long handle to carefully move the valve to the Venting setting. Hot, vigorous steam will immediately release. You will know when the pressure is fully released and it’s safe to remove the lid when the valve stops hissing and there is no more visible steam.
STEP 4  Adjust the oven to broil and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Use tongs and a spatula to transfer the cooked ribs to the baking sheet, bone side down. (Note: Discard the cooking liquid or reserve for another use, such as a homemade bbq sauce or braising liquid). Brush or spoon the Franklin sauce over the ribs and broil for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce thickens and caramelizes. Continue to brush and add more sauce over the ribs to taste.
STEP 5  While the ribs are broiling, heat the borracho beans over medium until thoroughly hot. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the cabbage & carrot slaw blend to a mixing bowl and combine with roasted jalapeno lime vinaigrette, salt and pepper to taste.
Enjoy!
