Hands on Time: 5 minutes; Total Time: 15 minutes

INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Thaw hot dogs and chili in refrigerator 1-2 days prior to cooking.

STEP 1  Heat the chili over medium until thoroughly hot (165°F), about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching. Season with salt and pepper to taste, if desired.
STEP 2  Meanwhile, grill the hot dogs over a gas or charcoal grill over medium heat until plump, juicy and thoroughly hot (165°F). Alternatively, heat in a skillet or grill pan over medium. Turn 3-4 times for even cooking and browning.
STEP 3 
Toast the buns on medium-low heat on the grill as the hot dogs cook, or warm in a 350°F oven until lightly crisp on the outside, while still soft on the inside.
STEP 4  To serve, add grilled hot dog, beef chili and shredded cheese to buns, and top with chopped onions.
