You will need:

  • Butter (optional)
  • Parmesan (optional)
  • Basil (optional)
Hands-on Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 - Bring a large pot of water, salted to taste like the sea, to a rolling boil. Warm ragu in a large saucepan until steaming.
Step 2 - Boil macaroni per package directions, about 3 minutes or until al dente. Using a slotted spoon or mesh strainer, scoop macaroni directly into the pan with ragu, allowing a little of the starchy pasta water to come with.
Step 3 - Vigorously swirl macaroni in with ragu over low heat until sauce thickens. Mount with cold butter at this point for a richer, more creamy ragu.
Step 4 - Serve in warm, shallow, bowls. Top with grated parmesan and chiffonade basil, if desired.
