These Turnips have magenta or red colored skin. The outer part of the turnip tastes a bit like a red radish while the inside is sweet like an early turnip. After washing the turnips, peel the skin, cut into cubes or slices, and then cook by either boiling, roasting, steaming, or baking. Store root veggies in a plastic bag in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator.

Johnson's Backyard Garden (JBG) is a certified organic vegetable farm located in Garfield, Texas. In 2004, Brenton Johnson started growing vegetables for 30 neighbors in hi Holly-street backyard and outgrew the space.   

Today, JBG farms on 200 acres located along the Colorado River. JBG grows over 200 different vegetable varieties, as well as a few fruit varieties, too.
