Larken Farms is a hobby turned business for Ken and Laura Jo Halverson. It started with just a few peach trees and grew to a full orchard, now with over 8,000 trees. They continue to grow a variety of plums, pears, apricots, blackberries, and more however, peaches are their pièce de résistance; peaches you have to lean forward to eat because they're so juicy and have a sweetness like candy. Rest assured, Larken has a strict policy that all peaches are Texas-grown. They work very hard on a growth/harvest strategy and never import from outside Texas, even in the event of a crop-killing freeze. They're also committed to organic practices, although they have not gotten their certification yet.
