Our baskets are all about local food, but when you boil it down, everything we do is centered around people. We believe good food and meaningful work are bridges to a richer community.

These are our values. The codes we live by, and the hills we'd die on
(though we'd rather just plant trees on those hills).

Over 80% of what we buy throughout the year is grown within 70 miles of Atlanta. By focusing on local growers, we: reduce fuel emissions of shipping cross-country, support Georgia's organic agricultural economy, connect people with farmers and their stories, and create a community of Georgians passionate about eating ethically.

Beyond Organic Farms
We work with many small, family-owned organic farms. Every year we get together with our farmers to plan out their crops with our customers' wants and needs in mind. They grow highly diverse crops, creating sustainable environments, while also resting their land and building their soil.
Food Waste Alleviation
Food Waste Alleviation
10% of the food supply is wasted at the retail level in order to keep shelves fully stocked. By telling our farmers exactly what we need, they harvest just enough to fulfill our next week's orders. That means at the end of the delivery week, our coolers are empty. Any produce that doesn't pass quality inspection gets composted and goes back into the ground to produce more organic veggies.

Reusable Packaging
All of our packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable. Delivery bins, foils, and ice blankets are washed, sanitized, and reused every week, often spanning over 7 years with hundreds of deliveries each. That comes out to roughly 2,500 tons of waste diverted from landfills! Our customers are participating in a system where the convenience of home delivery is actually contributing to a cleaner planet.

Refugee Job Creation
Located in the refugee resettlement city of Clarkston, we're setting our roots throughout the community in a few ways: refugees make up about 75% of the FH team with many progressing into leadership and managerial roles, our customers allow us to subsidize produce for our weekly Share the Harvest market, and dozens of our employees have gone from refugee status to American citizens.
