The son of California prune farmers, Don Christopher, started growing garlic in 1956 because of the perfect Mediterranean climate of Gilroy. His youngest son, Bill Christopher, grew up on his family’s prune ranch and inherited a natural affinity for the world of farming. Today he carries on the business with two of Don's grandsons. For three generations, the Christopher Family has served as stewards of their proprietary seed line.
