Sides Pea Farm began in 1957 when Winford and Virginia Sides bought 70 acres just south of Canton and began farming. Winford tried his hand at many vegetables—squash, tomatoes, potatoes, okra, watermelons, cantaloupes, peas, and beans—but soon discovered he had a special knack for raising peas. Winford handled the farming, and Virginia was the heart of the operation—selling produce at the farm and at surrounding farmer’s markets. Together, they built a legacy of quality, hard work, and community connection. This legacy is carried on by their grandson Brandon, as Sides Pea Farm continues to serve their community.
